Implementation of our curriculum is the most crucial function of each and every KKEL institution. To understand how we put into practice our curriculum in the classroom, do take a look at these examples:
How math is taught in Grade 2
As an illustration of how subjects are taught at Billabong High, let us examine Math in grade 2.
First, the curriculum is designed so that students acquire a positive attitude towards the subject, i.e., they develop interest, perseverance, confidence and the belief that ‘Mathematics makes sense’. Key mathematical concepts, skills and processes are developed sequentially through Grades 1to 4.
The students learn by exploring math materials, working independently and in groups. They use numerous ‘manipulatives’ like number lines, base ten system, solid shapes and a variety of learning games. When they learn through concrete experiences in a non-intimidating atmosphere, Mathematics becomes more meaningful - a tool which they can use to solve real-life problems.
