  The Advisory Board

The board consults us in activities and projects and helps us ensure that objectives set in the mission statement are fulfilled. It consists of seven eminent persons from diverse fields.


Tina Anil Ambani
Mrs. Ambani has been long associated with Aseema, an NGO involved in the rehabilitation of street children. For years, her Harmony Show has been the platform to launch new talent in art. She is on the advisory committee of the National Art Gallery of Modern Art and on the governing committee of the General Assembly of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). She guides us in the area of developing in children the vision of service to the wider community and those in need.


Ravi Shastri

Cricket's Champion of Champions was a top all-rounder and captain, and continues to be associated with the sport as a commentator and journalist. He helps us develop our sports curriculum.


Dr. Ishaverlal Desai
He heads the unit for Disability Studies & Integration in the Department of Learning & Educational Development, Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne. Internationally known for his teaching experience of 30 years, he has presented over 100 papers, seminars and workshops in various parts of the world.

He has received numerous scholarships and awards, including the British Council Scholarship to study at Cambridge University; the Fulbright-Hayes Leader Exchange Scholarship to study at Columbia University, New York; and the Golden Gateway Citation for outstanding leadership and services to children and adolescents who are intellectually disabled and physically and health impaired in community organisations and schools in South Africa.


Dr. Richard Johnson
Dr.Richard Johnson is currently working with RMIT College of Business which is one of the largest teaching facilities IN Australia.He was previously working as a Sr. Lecturer at Deakin University, Australia.

He has done intensive research on new learning technologies and teacher education, and contributed to the Learning Environments and Teacher Education Faculty Research Group on developing the ‘Changing Connections: The Social and Pedagogical Implications of New Learning Technologies’ project.


Andrew Houghton
Andrew Houghton is the Foundation Principal of Acacia College.
 
He has been associated with Ballarat and Clarendon college and was also appointed Deputy Head( JR.School) there. He has been head of primary schools of Billanook college. He also served on the Executive of the Victorian Branch of the Junior School Heads of Australia

Keith Butler
As a short-story writer, he won the prestigious Melbourne Short Story Prize for his ‘Sodasi’. As a recipient of Australian federal writing grants, he is often approached to 'interpret India' for Australians. He is wrapping up his first novel, A Secret Vindaloo, soon to be released in India, Australia and New Zealand.

As a teacher with over 30 years' experience, he has contributed to curricula around the world, including the Gifted Children’s Programme at Billanook College, where he presently teaches. His current interest is the Indo-Australian curriculum of Billabong High. He advises us on language and literature.


Prahlad and Mitali Kakkar
Mr. Kakkar is the founder of Genesis Film Productions, founder of India's first scuba-diving institute, co-founder of Reef Watch Marine Conservation, past President of IAAFA - the academy for recognising and promoting technical excellence in advertising films, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Advertising and Film Art, and one of the few Indians to have directed foreign commercials. He is also our distinguished advisor on developing creativity.

Mrs. Kakkar is a director with Genesis Film Productions, founder of Reef Watch Marine Conservation, and member of the governing body of Wildlife Institute of India. She has documented slides and films on coral reefs and marine life. She shares her knowledge and passion on environmental awareness and conservation.
